This is Randy I had my Mohs procedure Thursday. 60 stitches in my temple, 30 stitches in my arm. Squamous carcinoma cancer from the Sun. Doctor told me cancer on my temple is very aggressive may come back. That really bothers me. I hope that no one has to go through this. So far this year I have had prostate cancer, cancer on my lip, which resolved in my lip being removed completely still going through plastic surgery. Cancer on my temple, cancer on my arm. I am going to go and try a Cancer Center see if they can help slow down or stop my invasion of cancer. Kidney transplant in 2011... this is my new life......... this is just an update of what is happening to me
I have had enough: This is Randy I had my... - Kidney Transplant
I have had enough
Randy I’m so sorry to hear this. I’m glad you’re going to go to the cancer center, maybe they can get a hold on this. What did the doctor say about the cancer on your arm?
Is this from years of cumulated sun exposure or just since the transplant?
As always, I will continue to pray for you.
I am a 2+year transplant. I had squamous cell surgery on my temple and left ear. They dug into the side of my head and entirely removed my left ear. I have worn a hat while in the sun, but my doctor told me that the damage was done years ago. I am 79 so it doesn't make a lot of difference for me, but it is a warning for younger people. I am told that they got all of the cancer and I hope that they got all of yours Good luck.
i understand your frustration I had my 13 mohs surgery in the last 3 years last week. I have more scars than frankenstien but as i look back on my 37 years transplanted and the many many challenges it has brought to me I look at all the good things i have had to over come and accomplish. I was told on my one year anniversary that i might live one to 3 years. lol beat that one. when the transplant center would not give me perscription for drugs unless i came up with $3500 for appointment. I proved i could get drugs without them. that was 20 years ago.I watched my niece and nephew grow up . i have seen more good with the the transplant world although not perfect has improved over the years in many way. i too have tried new ways to combat my skin cancers but i hope you have better luck if you go to cancer center they have one here in Georgia. Randy just remember even though life is tough right now remember that there are more people worse off than we are . best of luck to you
Thank you . I feel better, I thought I was the only one going through this.this all happened this year 2021.
Wow you have had a time of it. I have to have the Mohs procedure for 2 basal carcinomas on my face. It never ends. I have a nodule on my thyroid that I will have to have FNA done. I just try to concentrate on the present day as yesterday is done and tomorrow isn't promised. Take Care and God Bless You.
I have not had to deal with cancer and crossing my fingers I don't. I had cancer as a kid which caused me to loose one kidney than it made me develop PKD in my other kidney and that was what caused me to get a transplant. I understand your how much more feeling your having but try to push through. I have had a lot of other complications and my center has done me wrong so I get it but keep pushing through. I think everyone on here has hot your back. If that don't help go outside and scream really loud! LoL
Thanks for sharing your life story. I feel the depression and I feel the hope. As many have expressed we are all going through our own journey that constantly puts up barriers to what we really had hoped to achieve after transplant. The fact that we are surviving is probably the greatest achievement. We hope others will learn from our pain. Some Will but some Will not. But we need to keep telling our story. I often wonder if skin cancer and other cancers are related to the poisoning affects of the toxins we produce and the deteriation of the ozone layer so that others who feel money is their major goal in life can become millionaires. With heart disease and cancer so prevalent why are we not putting the same government and private effort as we have done during covid. Sorry to go on a tangent but your story makes me angry. Take care and always keep us posted.
Eyak1971, you are probably right the ozone layer the sun is much stronger. Not to mention the toxins in our bodies. From the meds of course. Thank you I will keep in touch. I have had a lot of help on this forum. And I hope people like you will always be there for me and others. Thank you again
