I take my meds 9:30 am. And sometimes I take my meds at 10:00 pm, instead of 9:30pm. Is that ok?

I think so. Half an hour difference won't cause too much harm.

The way it was explained to me was that for exemple Prograf has a twelve hour coverage to protect your transplanted kidney. So if you push back 30 minutes, it is like you don’t have coverage and if you do it frequently, your 30 minutes start to add up where you are not protected. It doesnt take much for the immune system to activte its self. Like i was told, it can happen that you forget and take them a little later, just not to make a habit of it.

While technically that's the idea, our metabolism varies and the drug level always extends beyond the "term". Not saying it is ideal but if you read the studies on trough levels they don't just "disappear" right before the next dose, it is a continuous level that these two times a day drugs protocol aim to achieve for a steady protective effect. I would try to be as good with it as possible but not let the missed time stress anyone out.

Generally yes but it is best to stick to the same time as much as possible to reduce your changes of rejection.

Absolutely Fine Charly.... Certainly Once Off! However I would, and Do, try to Stick to the Same Time- as far as possible.

I Sort Out, my Drugs, the night before- giving the advantage of being able to Order, any Replacement Drugs 'straight away' (I am registered On Line). I then leave the Drugs in a specific place (more correctly Places- one has to be taken, an hour, before food).

As I said...Do Try to get 'things' right BUT Don't 'Sweat' a Slight 'Time Change', very occasionally. Take Care, my friend and

Howdy...Be sure to ask your nephrologist. That being said, I take my Tac (envarsis) late on days I have my blood work done at the transplant clinic. Sometimes 1.5 hours late. It’s never bothered them that I usually take it at 9 a.m. I take 2.5 mg of envarsis once daily. They take into account the particular 25.5 hour trough level. That want my tac to fall between 6-8. Mines usually 7.

How is your tac trough level?

ProGraf only was on cellcept at the beginning but removed it once I got the BK virus, which is gone and never felt any side effects to the virus.

That's good. Most of the US transplant centers expect patients to be on a three-drug protocol. Since you are only on one, it is especially important that you take enough. How long ago did you have your surgery?

I’m only on two — envarsis and myfortic. I was having trouble with wbc count but they removed my anti viral and it returned to normal. If that wouldn’t have worked there was talk of reducing myfortic and adding steroid.

I passed six months in March snd was to to have anti viral removed anyway. Didn’t have any CMV, BK, or Epstein Barr. But they switched me to dapsone for two weeks snd my hemoglobin dropped—witch is a side effect of the drug — so I’m returning to Bactrim 2x weekly.

I had it last July, I’m actually also a donor. I donated a kidney to my father over 20 years ago, because I was a donor, once they placed me on the list, I was blessed to only wait 2 weeks. Transplant was done at Cleveland Clinic in Weston Florida, it’s between Fort Lauderdale and Miami. An amazing hospital and Doctors!!!
