Always need to urinate

I am 16 months post kidney transplant. I always have the need to urinate and this is affecting my life in many ways. I cannot hold my urine there is too much pain and there is always this urge to go. Sometimes I even have to go every 30 minutes. I got tested for urine infection and it was negative. I even took a medication for over active bladder problems and it did not help. The doctor even checked my prostate and it was ok. Does anyone have this kind of problem, would you be open sharing with everyone. What kind of treatment has the recommended. Thanks so much for sharing in advance.

I only ask because I am 16 months out as well and I drink around 2.25 liters per day and am urinating about every three hours. Caffeine is a diuretic and can increase your urge to go.

Hello Tahmed251, I have exactly the same problem, Water Consumption 112 oz/day, BP 130/74 or lower, PSA normal, Now I reduce my water consumption after 6pm in the evening, avoid or minimize foods that make you urinate more often (example: Tomatoes/Water melon or foods that have a diuretic effect. I have asked the doctor if the native kidney is still making urine...I have to get a renal ultrasound done + additionally my RBC/Hematrocrit/Hemoglobin went above the upper range( had to get phlebotomy done) - so my question was - are the native kidneys still aiding the process of production of RBC etc. this is work in progress. ... I will keep you posted, should find anything interesting..pls share.
