Dear Everyone,
Hands Up, if you remember- All the way back to...…. January..... Thought so! 'A Happy New Year, A New Decade a New Start.....'
The Election was Looming, Brexit hadn't been 'Sorted', Football was being played (dare I say Endlessly), The Olympics weren't in Doubt, Clubs & Pubs were open- so were Social Groups, Art Groups, Schools, Churches... You could take Holy Communion.... You remember.... Before Covid19!
Now anyone, with a simple cough, is a 'Risk'- even your local Children. (Jackie, from 'Next Door', who likes to take your Denture 'In and Out'- your Grandson Jamie, who picks his nose, and ALWAYS helps to make YOUR sandwich....OK NEVER that hygienic, but still.) You remember, in the OLD Days.... when you could, actually WIPE, your Bum- rather than doing a 'Handstand', in the Shower! OK I have exaggerated, a Little, for comic effect, but this IS a Serious matter, and we ARE going to 'Have To' get used to it.
Expect, assuming the weather warms up, Cricket & Tennis Balls, Frisbees, Paper & Plastic Planes, Paddling Pool Toys and even Plastic 'Pots & Pans' to, quite regularly, 'land' in your garden. The hard part might be actually 'working out' where, the assorted playthings come from. Especially if you have Children living, 'next door Both ways', and others 'behind' your garden. I mean, exactly 'who' does the Dolls Pram belong to- not to mention, quite how it got there..... The sounds of Children laughing will, no doubt, cheer our hearts😊. (Where I live, I can Normally, hear the School....)
Still, let's be Positive... Time to do 'things'... Those Shelves, that Tiling, Tidy the shed and the Loft (Oh Heck!). You Might even Paint the Kitchen.... though maybe THAT'S going too far! You can certainly Watch ALL those Films, Boxed Sets (yes even 'that' one)… and what was that Beautiful Series, that you, recorded? Well enjoy it!
So let us NOT get too 'Down In The Mouth' people.... I'm a bit Young, to know this, other from a History Book (or talking to Folk) but Blitz/ Siege Spirit....and all that!
