28 year old daughter received a gift of transplantation in November 18, most recently creatinine level, BUN and GFR are trending in the wrong direction. Biopsy scheduled for this Tuesday. Potential early onset rejection. Very scary, but the silver lining is MD's can treat the rejection with high dose steroids. Prayers please.

3 months post transplant, potentially in early onset rejection πͺ.
Youβre in my thoughts and prayers Lbw62. I hope everything goes well for you on Tuesday.
I had a serious rejection of my second kidney, vascular on day 4 post-transplant. They blasted me with heavy thymo-globulin which was intense, but it worked! I had a few smaller rejections (like it sounds like your daughter might have), and steroids did the trick as well. That kidney still lasted me a strong 14 years. I'm now on my third and feeling better than I ever have. Hope is a tricky beast here, but a little can help us in the day to day. Thinking of you and your daughter!
My 38 year old son received a live-donor transplant on November 14. His donor was a smaller woman and because of size difference his creatinine and BUN fluctuate frequently. Since he is also on Warfarin, the doctors want to avoid biopsy as long as possible and recently had the Allosure blood test drawn as it shows signs of very early rejection. Fortunately, the results were normal, but now we have a baseline. Just an FYI. It may be beneficial for your daughter to have this test drawn. It is scary, but doesn't mean she will lose her graft. Good luck and good medicine tomorrow to you and your daughter. We will be thinking of her.
I had 3 rejections 6 months apart after transplant. It was treated with heavy steroids. I am now 7 yrs post transplant & living life & still working. I am 67 yrs young. GOOD LUCK
How high is the Creatinine and BUN? BEST wishes to your daughter!!
My husband had complications post transplant Cr went to 9. Took about 6 mo to get to steady state at 2. Confident that this is a blip in the road but prayers are with you.
ππππ GOOD LUCK
early rejection can be treated easily with high dose steroids
i got similar news 6 months after my transplant. The higher dose of prednisone took care of it. Iβm now 2 years out and I feel 2000x better than Iβve felt in 5 years. I worried like crazy when the early rejection happened and for a long time after. In reading all these posts I recognize there are no guarantees so am trying to make the most of every day and take thinks as they come, one day at a time. Good luck to you and yours!
