I have Ulcerative Colitis, want to give to mom.

I am in remission for 5+ years of Ulcerative Colitis (UC), and I was denied being a donor because UC (like Chron's or IBD) is a chronic disease.

I don't understand the sweeping exclusion here. It seems much more case-by-case, since not all kidney disease patients can receive a kidney unless criteria have been met. I want to be my mom's donor, that's it. How do I do it?
