Wife is at stage 4 with an eGFR of 23. Thought I'd learn more about this condition and look into the living donor program. Seems I have a lot to learn.

Sorry to hear this. BEing a care partner is a challenge. Mostly, because you feel you wish you could do more to find a donor and eliminate the pain they suffer. It's a horrible disease and I just look forward to a call in the future that we will get the gift of life for Greg my husband

It's very important that you take care of yourself, as you help your wife with her CKD. What I have noticed is that as CKD progresses, both the ill person and his/her care partner start to isolate more, do less. I like Dean Ornish's program he described in Undo It, which basically talks about the importance of diet, movement, stress management and intimacy as building blocks for health. Good luck to both you and your wife as you make this difficult journey!
