I had av fistula installed in my left forearm a week ago. I have severe itching on the upper part of my forearm or sensitivity. I also intermittenly have pain in the area of the incision. It comes and goes and is about a 5 out of 10 level. Is all this normal after an installation?
Thanks, Jerome

Yes. I am not sure about the itching. That's the skin and has nothing really to do with the surgery unless you still have some residual problem from the surgery like from betadine. The pain will go away at the incision. You probably had a nerve block done and that may also be causing the pain. I had some pain in my lower arm, well below the surgery line and it was from the nerve block. It took at least a month or more for there to be absolutely no pain or discomfort. Remember, this is a big deal surgery, and it will take time to heal.
