Hi, I’m new onto dialysis which I’ve been getting for the last 2 months or so, I have a femoral line in at the moment but due to get a hero graft, does anyone know much about it or experience of one please. I’m not really sure what to expect. I have seen vascular surgeon who said they will take an artery from my leg and place it in my arm which is amazing. I can’t get a fistula or lines in my chest as my main arteries are blocked or narrowed due to various Hickman lines over the years. I’m in Scotland in the UK.
Thank you.

Hello I am faorly new here and with dialysis myself...after reading your post a quick search online led me to a bsic but infomative answer to what you can possibly expect...i hope this helps and we can be supportive through here to anyone that can utilize the reads, advice, and compassion/understanding...
Thanks for the replies, I’m hoping I get the Hero graft now sooner rather than later as it’s looking like my femoral line is infected. I clicked on the link from merit but unfortunately it comes up not found but I appreciate you searching. I have tried googling what to expect but I don’t really understand it.
