It could be several reasons, he could be fluid overloaded and needs to take more fluid during his sessions. He could also have/had pneumonia check with docs to get an X-ray to make sure. If he’s over it it usually takes up to 6 months to totally recover. Another reason can be early signs of heart failure. This needs an echocardiogram to check. There may be other reasons but those are the most common. Definitely talk to his doctor about it.

This could be iron deficiency. When HgB goes down, it may happen. I had similar thing, now I am fine after right medication

i get short of breath. I noticed when they take a little more off me at dialysis i really get short of breath. They do give me iron at times, and i just had a stress test.It might just be part of dialysis.I still want to know the reason. I'm ok sitting, maybe too much.Good luck

Fluid retention and/or iron deficiency are possibilities. Iron is essential. Is your dad on IV iron along with iron supplementation?

Yes he is ty for the reply

Did your dad receive the injections? If so, check D-dimers.

I have been prescribed a battery powered oxygen generator.I use it three times a day or so to combat breathlessness.

Whilst doing oxygen therapy I also do pulmonary rehab exercises. Look up on Google.

It has helped a lot.
