so scared of blood tests and ct scan results

I am so scared of the results. My scan results are on Friday along with my bloods. I have had high blood pressure for years and sometimes controlled and sometimes not. I am looking at the symptoms of kidney disease at an advanced stage and feel convinced I have some of them. I now feel that at the age of 52 with a small family I am facing a death sentence.. For the first time in my life I am so frightened. I find it so difficult facing the thought of dyeing from this at such a young age

Take a deep breathe. I think most of us felt the same way you did when we first found out we had CKD. However, even if you are diagnosed with CKD it doesn't mean a death sentence. If you read through various posts on this sight, you will find there are people in all stages from early stage to having had several transplants. Depending on the type, cause and stage you are at, you may never need dialysis or a transplant, but if you did need one, there are lots of different options these days and they are continuously working on more.

Once you find out Friday your results, you can start taking action and learn more about your particular circumstances. Let us know what you find out here and we can all give you input. You might also want to read through various posts to see suggestions of things to do or not do such as cutting back on sodium, cutting out red meat, practicing meditation or mindfulness or other ways to relieve stress.

I totally agree with Zazzel. We have been there and we know so much more now! Do not panic, it will not help. Get your results and come back to us with the information. The many wise, experienced people here can help to put your mind at rest. No matter what the results are, you can improve the numbers.

Good luck,
