Hello! My husband just started dialysis in late August. He is actively on the transplant list but unfortunately we have not heard anything yet. Just wanted to join the site to get some feedback on everyone's experience. God Bless!

Unless the transplant center is calling because they have a kidney available you likely won't hear much from them at all. Some centers like to check in with potential recipients every 3 months or so while others go an entire year and then must return for annual updates for required testing. Some places are great about staying in touch while others can be hit and miss. I had a center who changed coordinators multiple times within a year and never notified me they had changed and then went 3 years with no contact at all, not even for annual updates. The waiting is difficult but I call it the "keep on living life with a timer in the background" Hang in there. Hope it comes soon for you. Blessings
