Hiw do I get my story out to receive a live donor? Currently on the donors list.

Hello I’ve posted my story on different platforms and still no reply or feed back, just trying to find a live donor while await for a kidney transplant because I only have one and the time is ticking.

I had my Transplant 2 years ago. The process of finding a donor is a task that takes time. My wife took on this job from day one which I’ll be forever grateful. I’ve two daughters who unfortunately inherited the same kidney disease I have PKD. My wife applied but was denied also for medical reasons. With five siblings we thought we would start there. They were all aware what was needed but talked the talk but didn’t walk the walk. It was go time and none had been tested. Luckily I had several friends who volunteered to get tested. In the process I had a niece who was tested and was a match not a perfect match but a match non the less. She volunteered to be in the paired program which put her kidney in a pool. At the end of the day her kidney went to another guy in a different state. Their donated kidney went to another recipient in another state and mine cam from another state. So her gift saved three lives that day. It’s a tough thing to do asking for a donated kidney but I was surprised how many friends and a few family members (nieces) who said they would get tested. Getting the news out there was the toughest part but you’ll be surprised how many people you least expected will come forward. Good Luck !!

this is just like first response but is one of the fastest ways.

I know a matched kidney is far more difficult than getting a non matched kidney. that where paired donation comes in. Check this option out optn.transplant.hrsa.gov/pr...
