Could blood in urine be “normal” with kidney disease?

I had my second cat scan with dye this time and so far it has not been very enlightening as to where or why I have hematuria. This feels very vague. I went to hospital last week due to the fact I could not urinate and was very uncomfortable up all night etc. After waiting a very long time I saw a doctor who looked at my past cat scan and could not see anything new but did an ultrosound and a urynaliss which came back negative for infection which I was sure they would find but positive for 150 red blood cells which did not surprise me. I feel like a puzzle! I am seeing the doctor that ordered the cat scans and did the cystoscopy this week so am hoping that there might at least be something he could tell me. I am a diabetic and already knew I had kidney disease but had never had bleeding until last summer when this issue started. Has anyone else here experienced that as a part of their kidney disease or could be a totally separate problem?
