I have posted on here before but briefly as i'm panicking.
I am on EGFR 7 on PD dialysis. For the last couple of months i've been getting these sores on my face. They start very small and then get large very quick and itch. I'm just getting fobbed off from doctor to doctor and they state it's an allergy. I don't feel right and this is making me stay in all day and avoid food etc.
Can anyone advise here?I'm going to kick up a fuss tomorrow at the doctors but I'm worried this is my kidneys.
I did post a picture but it's too large for here. I'll see if I can make it smaller.
Thank you

I'm on haemodialysis, so not knowledgeable regarding PD. I believe calcium deposits can developed under the skin. Especially on hand, feet and face. So I would look into that. Definitely look for answers from your medical team and don't stop until they address this. One thing I have learnt since being on dialysis, you have to shout to be heard!!! I am constantly being delayed being put on the transplant list, due to issues I have told staff about and nothing gets done. Then they find I was right and then the issue needs rectified. I am developing a very thick skin these days. No-one cares about your health as much as you. Wishing you all the best.
You have to e your own advocate, I have learned, keep asking.I was on PD for2 1/2 months, didn't have any issues. Yeah say something to doctors tomorrow, and if nothing is sorted out, maybe try a dermatologist.
I remember the nurse telling me I could get sores and I did on my back. It was very disconcerting and like you, nobody ever took my complaints seriously. 😞
They could be calcium deposits (usually develop in fatty tissue areas how is your phosphorus?) , allergic reactions, sometimes not getting adequate dialysis can also produce this. Do you know what your URR is? Phosphorus? Creatinine? Other labs?
I can't really tell you what this is...when my hubby was on PD, he had a rash that went across his shoulders and down his back. It was extremely itchy - it's occasionally referred to as kidney failure or dialysis rash (uremic pruritis). But yours sounds different from this since it's on your face. Anyway, my hubby was also ignored by everyone except his primary doctor. His primary merely identified it as an allergic rash, as your doctor did, and then prescribed children sized Zyrtec for it. It worked pretty well. Maybe you can ask them about taking this yourself for a little relief while you work with your team to fully diagnose your condition.
I am sorry for all you're going through. Too often I hear , that it's anxiety when it's not. Part of it is but you know your body, keep advocating for yourself, since I am not pushy but we have to learn to advocate and be firm about it. I'm learning.I wish you well.
