Trying to do all I can with diet and exercise but still get nausea alot. Sometimes before a meal and sometimes after. The Dr told me to take a pesid everyday which helped initially but now not so much. Keep hydrated not sure what else will help. Anyone experience this? Gfr 31It's really got me down....any suggestions. I've left my Nephrologist a message but don't see him until October.

Hi itzmich,

Have you tried ginger for nausea? Here is an article on Pubmed that talks about the benefits of Ginger for CKD patients. The article does not directly address the anti nausea effect of ginger - but I have used Ginger tablets to relieve queasiness and it works for me and ginger has been used for centuries to relieve nausea.

I have CKD stage 3a with an eGFR of 55.

I hope it helps you with your queasiness.

Thank you I'm drinking ginger tea right now....it does help a little.

I have found that drinking ice water and eating 3-4 unsalted soda crackers help with nausea, as well as ginger and peppermint tea. 🤗

Not sure why you would have nausea related to CKD at the stage you are at. My only suggestion is to have your urate levels checked. When the kidneys do not filter, you become toxic and that will make you sick. HOWEVER, we are talking stage 5 when this usually occurs. They can check your levels with a renal panel blood test.
