I would like to know people's ratings for Farxiga from 1-10, for

I would like to know people's ratings for Farxiga from 1-10, for
HELPING IMPRIVE eGFR 1-10 1 is NO increase, 10 is Increase to OVER 60
SIDE EFFECTS 1-10 - 1 is NO side effects, 10 is TOO MANY
GFR - 1 Side Effects - 1. Been on Farxiga almost 2 years.
has it raised your eGfr being on Farxiga?
No not at all. I also have not lost any weight on it. Seems like a bit of a useless pill.
I think the better question would be did your eGFR go down and if so by how much?
eGFR should improve with medication, not decrease; Anything under 60 is not good; Mine is 40, and want to get back to 60 range, to feel safe
I disagree, not all medication improves a condition. It might keep it from getting worse and maybe hide some of the symptoms, but rarely does it actually make it heal.
only point of certain medication is to IMPROVE, if not improving, or keeping stable, NO need for medication
Farxiga doesn't improve eGFR - it's renal-protective and has been proven so in quite a few randomized trials. It doesn't raise your eGFR it slows down the progression of the disease.
I have read other comments about people who have improved eGFR from Farxiga,
sorry to hear, too bad your egfr did not increase
My doctor told me Farxiga would make egfr worse
wow-research and this group shows improvement - i would ask a 2nd opinion
My nephrologist said it helps some people but only if you are diabetic and I'm not diabetic and it would lower mine.
“Among patients with stage 4 CKD and albuminuria, with and without type 2 diabetes, the effects of dapagliflozin on reducing the risks of major kidney and cardiovascular events and attenuating progressive loss of eGFR are consistent with those observed in the trial overall, with no evidence of increased risks. Dapagliflozin should be considered part of the therapeutic armamentarium for patients with stage 4 CKD and albuminuria,” wrote investigators.
Well I am diabetic and my Gfr in the past two years since starting Forxiga just fluctuates between 14-18. I also have gained around 45 lbs in the past two years. Also had a heart attack at Easter time. Really don't know why my Nephrologist is keeping me on this pill. It must help some folks I guess.
Farxiga is a diabetic drug. By helping to lower someone's A1c, or sugar levels, helps with kidney function. They say it is renal protective, which means only it does not harm the kidneys. Does not mean it will improve a GFR. It may as a result of better glucose maintenance. As yes, all drugs can have the potential to harm the kidneys..... look at ibuprofen.
I have been on it since mid May. Initial blood test after 2 weeks showed drop in eGFR but improvement in Protein Urea. Nephrologist says drop in eGFR is temporary. Time will tell. I am not seeing any unusual increase in thirst or dehydration. Though I am at my daughter’s place and we eat dinner earlier there so water intake is lower in the evening and I go to urinate about 3 times a night and that flow is lesser, day time it is fine. Will see how things go back when I am at home.
