A stone can definitely cause damage. I had five of them in one kidney, too large to pass. and I was passing stones like a goose. They gave me allopurinol and that stopped them, not sure of the stones are still there or not. They said my stones were uric acid stones, due to the change in my blood chemistry from psoriatic arthritis. I am now on sodium citrate to lower my acid and it works. Find out what kind of stone you have, and then there are medications to help. Diet too will help to some extent, depending on the type.

Hi,

I have dealt with kidney stones since about 2015, when I ended up in the hospital.

Back at around 2016 they removed two bladder stones, and one in my left kidney that wasn't causing any blockage " thankfully " but that left kidney I have a stone embedded in the kidney itself. In 2016 the Dr claimed when going in she couldn't see any kidney stone even though my MRI said otherwise. Now at a different hospital they found out that kidney stone " again " The stone is way to big for me to pass it out, and how embedded it is in the kidney no way would it ever pass on its own. My only option is surgery a hole would be made on the left side, issue here is I have CKD stage 3. The urologist said I should get an ultrasound done which was scheduled for 6 months to determine if the stone has changed then I would have to decide if I want the surgery. I have chronic back, is the kidney stone contributing to my pain according to the Dr it shouldn't. I did speak to my Neurologist about this issue which he is aware. When speaking to him about me having the surgery or any other surgery we spoke of the risks since I have CKD, he explained if my blood pressure went super low during the surgery it would take me straight into dialysis even at stage 3, but at the moment I'm okay if needing surgery. He also explained the kind of medication they would me give during recovery mainly what kind of pain medication. I'm due for another colonoscopy, because the first didn't go as planned, and I have polyps that need removing he said I should be okay, because it's not general anesthesia.

When a stone blocks the flow of urine, it causes kidney inflammation "swelling". If your stone is stuck in the Urethra, even worse. These can definitely damage the kidneys. Flomax "prescription only" will widen the Urethra to allow stones to pass. If it still won't pass, you will need surgery to get it out. A scope is often used if it is in the Urethra. They'll go inside your pee hole up to the stone and grab it.

Not sure for those beautiful ladies.

But for men, I have heard, in India there are some herbal ( ayurvedic ) medicine that softens

and disolves kidney stone and then flushes out in urine.

In USA, they also do a laser surgery, which

fragments the stone into small pieces and passes out in urine.
