Hi S, Make sure your doctor is aware of your symptoms and don't wait for labs to tell him. Compression socks can only do so much, but they help. It will help if you put your feet up often for a while during the course of the day. But tell the doctor and get some labs run.

I agree with Bassetmommer. Call your nephrologist right away. Mine wants me to call with any change like edema, metallic taste in my mouth, etc. He orders labs immediately so he knows what’s going on. Vigilance is critical as our renal function gets lower.

My edema was caused when a new nephrologist completely changed my blood pressure medication. The edema was relieved when I went back to the medication I took for many years. As others advised, please call your nephrologist and get some help as soon as possible.

How much are you drinking? Check what amount is right for your age, weight, activity level etc, could be you are having too much fluid.
