so in the hospital they took a CT scan of her lungs. Attending Doc told us showed very small something. said it's probably nothing but to have another scan in 3 months . she does not smoke. has this happen to anyone?

In my experience there are many "things" in the lungs. If the doctor said nothing to worry about, then don't worry. He is planning on following up on it so time will tell. At this point there is really nothing to do. If you're thinking biopsy, then rething that. They are dangerous and pose more of a threat than the small something

Yes, it happened to me and they determined it was scar tissue.

I just had a CT scan this last April and it showed "something" in my R lung lobe. My doctor ordered to do a scan in 3 months later. They want to compare and make sure there are no changes to what they saw in the first scan. Mine did show scar tissue. I did have pneumonia several times while waiting for a transplant. The doctor believes that is the cause of my scar tissue.

Your doctor is probably just being cautious.

If you are worried, you should be asking the ordering doctor your questions.

I had something similar. Within a short period of time after my transplant just over a year ago, I developed a cough. I went to the pulmonologist at the same center. The first scan showed a small area of inflammation. The next step was to re-scan in 3 months and check. The next scan showed a slight increase in size. That led to a more detailed workup including a biopsy and a consultation with a transplant infectious disease doc. Everything was negative. Another scan was scheduled 3 months later, where the result showed that the area had disappeared on its own. My cough had cleared up months before that. In the end, they were not really sure what caused it.

Do you have sarcoidosis?

Not that I know of. The pulmonologist attributed it to a resolving pneumonia or a small clot. If the cough comes back, I will get back in touch with the pulmonologist.
