Currently it has only been tested on people who take either ACE or ARB, and has protein in urine. However, it's the ACE ARB that is controling the protein, not the SGLT 2. I'm considering it but already eat low salt/glucose and don't need to lose weight, so the only benefit for me would be the bp lowering mechanism which acts counter to the ACe. We were going to do labs in a month then decide.

I started Farxiga two months ago for CKD and so far so good. I've done labs and all is fine.

Husband went on it for diabetes and CKD. His glucose is the best it has been in a very long while. Although his GFR slipped a little, he had only been on it for less than a month when he went for the labs. But he was able to come off of three other medications, so to me that's a win win.

Following.. I have it but have not taken it yet…waiting to see how people do on it. Very concerned about major side effects associated with the medication.

My PCP thinks it’s the cause of 3 bladder infections I’ve had this year and might take me off of it. I want to stay on it because combined with Tradjenta, I have been able to keep my A1C down to almost normal for the first time in years, I’ve lost weight and able to manage my appetite and cravings. I love it and gives me hope dealing with diabetes and CKD.

I started taking Farxiga in Feb. this year. My GFR was 61. My next blood test I had fallen to 24. and as of August I am down to 14. My sugars are still high and I have gained 50lbs. My nephrologist insists I stay on this pill. So far they're have been no other negative things with it though I would prefer not to take it.

Wow I have never heard of anybody gaining weight on it? Personally I have been on it since June and am struggling to put weight ON! I have loss 10lbs and only weigh 142lbs now… I’m a 6 foot male who moves pianos for a living… I need to be at 175lbs minimum… did you change anything else then? My GFR dropped 10 points but has leveled out..
