Yes interesting. It's just a shame that the only long term "solution" mentioned is drug development albeit they say they're looking at various strategies. Why not work with relevant functional bodies also to consider other options?
It doesn't state who funded the research so I don't know if it was a pharma company but the outcome will attract them like flies (which is how Universities operate)!

Thanks! Very interesting article. I really appreciate the focus on a previously ignored enzyme NEDD4-2. The human body is intricate, and seemingly discounted things like that may indeed play a big role in kidney health. I appreciate and largely trust research from research centers in advanced nations (including this report from the U. of S. Australia) where research is often closely supervised and profit motive is generally more tightly controlled than in the US. I sincerely hope this leads to additional promising developments.
