No half moons on nails

I have just noticed that I no longer have half moons on my nails. No idea how long they have been like this. Is this a sign of vitamin deficiency? Anything to do with my kidneys? Stage 3 and not on any medication. Thanks.

I don’t have any half moons either but I don’t think it is anything to do with kidneys, I have never had them.

It could happen if you are doing extreme diet to take care of your kidney issues. extreme diet could cause Anemia. So check your iron levels , RBC count , Hematocrit and Haemoglobin.

Please also check your B12

Thank you for your reply. Not following any particular diet but will ask nurse to test at my next review. I have free access to an online dr and asked them but they had never heard of any connection with vitamin deficiency and nails. I know you can’t believe everything you read on the internet but seems quite a widespread theory. Who knows?!
