Have you been to see either your primary care physician or a nephrologist? If you haven’t, I’d strongly suggest that you set an appointment as soon as possible.

The tiredness and itchy skin can be related to CKD but there are other medical conditions that can cause this. Plus, we aren’t medical personnel in this forum so can’t give medical diagnoses etc. instead we’re here to support one another as we handle our CKD.

When is your next appointment? I’d definitely follow up to find out what the treatment plan is.

Well, I’m turning 67 on Aug 3, 2020. So I don’t think it’s your age. And if it is, it shouldn’t be! Do you have someone who could go with you to a follow up appointment? Also, I like to jot my questions down before my appointments. Then I’m able to ask them as I get to the appointment.

Please follow up with your physician. 66 is far too young to give up on trearment🐶🐶

Are you able to see your blood test results? Your eGFR should indicate at what level your eGFR (estimated Glomular Filtration rate) is. Sad that your Doctor mentioned you had kidney problem but did not explain what level or what the kidney problem is. Maybe request a follow-up appointment to go over test results. Be prepared with prioritized questions. (I am on Medicare and experienced that some Doctors only give you 10 minutes). Keep us posted

I agree with Bassetmommer, definitely get your lab results out. Check your eGFR. Then look online to find out what stage you were at when those labs were taken.

There are plenty of websites, credible websites, that can give you basic information regarding what you should expect st each stage of CKD.

And we’re here to support you🐶🐶

Lucie,

You are the same age as I am, which is not old..... so do not let that be an excuse. You pay the doctor to talk with you and consult. But you need to ask the questions.

Find out what degree of kidney impairment you have. Then read what is a "normal" situation for your stage. There is a wealth of information out there but here is good place to start:

Then ask the doctor to review your bloods as you call them. Here is a link to review yourself what they mean.kidney.org/atoz/content/und...
