That sounds lovely. Do you know if your potassium is an issue? the issue with diets is the longevity it requires. Can you maintain this for an extended time?
If you are worried about what you are eating, then I recommend using a tracker such as Davita.com has or something similar. It will let you know if you are reaching the amounts of requirements such as calories and fat and whether or not you are getting too much of something like salt and potassium.
Thanks for the reply. Since I’m newly diagnosed with stage 3A I haven’t seen a Nephrologist or Renal dietician yet. My Primary Care Doc gave me some guidelines to follow until I can meet the Nephrologist and dietician. The diet will not be difficulty for me to follow. I’ve basically followed the DASH diet for years because of hypertension. What will be difficult is determining the quantity etc. I will look at the DaVita tracker!! Thanks again.
I use the Davita tracker/planner and find it is easy to use. It is under the diet helper tab. There is also a diet and nutrition selection which has many recipes. Have to select non dialysis for recipes.
