GFR Remains The Same Although Other Values Improved??

I don't know if I should be happy or sad. I have been following Lee Hull's advice for a month now to a T! I just got a lab back today and my gfr remains the same although most everything else has improved. Any advice? Why would everything else be better but not my gfr? Is there anything else I can do?

I notice your creatinine remained the same. Gfr improves if you manage to lower your creatinine.

My GFR has remained the same for almost 2 years now and I consider than a win. My other labs keep improving including lowering my potassium, which surprised me. Don't get hung up on that one number and be happy that it is stable and not declining.

Thanks to all who have replied! :) I am very concerned because my gfr went from 32 - 26 in 6 months! I am getting labs done monthly now and this is the 1st month that it has stayed the same and not declined. My other values have improved. How can I decrease my creatinine? I am doing everything I can to stop the decline and improve a bit. Thanks so much for any help!!

1.9 Creatinine is probably the culprit. Lowering creatinine is directly linked to improved GFR. My creatinine is only .2 above normal and my GFR remains basically the same. I am not sure it will ever go up even if my creatinine does get to normal. I am hopeful though. As long as I am feeling well and not worsening I am happy with GFR staying the same as just like with a weight on a scale it is a tool.

Hello, GFR is a formula estimating residual renal function based primarily on creatinine, age, race. Don't forget is a formula not a sentence. If all other values connected with kidney efficiency are stable or iproving this is extremely more relevant than single small % more or less in GFR. Global picture is more important than single value. Marry Christmas
