Devastated...

Well, I was trying to switch hospitals because my insurance dropped the hospital I was using. I've been on their list for seven months.

The new hospital put me through a painful gauntlet of tests and surgeon examined me and said my weight is fine. Then, I get a call this morning that they won't move me to their list until I lose ten pounds. Now I'm in limbo. I feel like I was conned. I trusted them. Why is it nobody wants to help me?

I'm so, so tired...I just want this to be over.

Hang in there. 10 lbs is not that bad. I've lost 130 lbs in the last 17 months. Keep up being proactive and don't get down or discouraged. You can deal with this no matter what obstacles they throw at you.

What are you doing to try to lose weight? I have found that juice diets (fresh pressed at home from a quality juicer) or just fresh fruits and vegetables and smoothies without sugar have helped me the most. The juices have given me the best results for a fast loss. I have been able to lose 15 pounds in two weeks and even going back to normal food after I was able to keep at least 10 off by watching what I ate. I would have fruit in the morning and mid morning. Vegetable at lunch and maybe mid afternoon, then fruit again in the evening. I wasn't hungry, and I lost weight. You do need to watch your numbers. I was in stage 3 at the time, and it did not make my numbers drop. In fact, one time they even got better. I just didn't keep it up as I should have, or I may not be in the state I am now.

Dustype, your portrait suggests you are much younger than I (I'm almost 78). I have Original Medicare with Medicare Supplemental Insurance. My premiums are high, but I have no co-pays, and have no problems being rejected by hospitals, including M D Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX (#1, 2 or 3 in the USA). Some seniors eligible for Medicare opt instead for something called Medicare Advantage. It's a private plan. Premiums can be as low as $0 a month, but co-pays are high, and far fewer physicians and hospitals participate. These plans can snare folks when they least expect it. When I was employed, my employers paid for healthcare. Today, I understand that employees pay a growing share of the costs. I hope your plight is resolved quickly.

A quick update. My wife and father and I were devastated by what "Saint" Francis did to me. The day after "Saint" Francis denied me a place on their list because of two inches in my waste, my father had a heart attack and passed away. Not only did these lying "medical professionals" cost me the one shred of hope I had, they took my father away from me too. All for two inches.

Dear God in Heaven! I am so very sorry. :( I am changing ALL my doctors!!! Too many of them these days are rude, nasty and communication is non-existant!

I want to lose weight but not all at once so ive cut food back to smaller portions and swap one food for another. I dont eat any snacks too close to when i go to bed.

I walk half an hour immediately after i get up and bathroom but feel that tho it's helping me all over it hasnt helped me lose weight.

Ive lost 5 lbs in 6 weeks and that may be all :( i hope not but it's more than ive lost lately except when i had shingles.
