Hi l am 48 years old with pkd (stage 3) and pld I feel so tired every day and I am having trouble with sleeping I can't sleep over 4 hours every night and the next day I have to go to work....

I hope that are feeling a little better today. It may be possible that you may feel tired because of other health issues. You may want to contact your doctor and schedule a follow-up.

I think these is asleep disorder and not related to your pkd unless you are having continous pain at night.Also, stage 3 ckd is usually not accompanied with sleep disorder so,you have to discus this problem with your psychiatrist.

Gogo48...you did not say why you can only sleep four hours. Is it because you need to go to the bathroom and can't get back to sleep? Are you in pain? Are you on any medications that are giving you insomnia? There can be many causes. I too at stage 3 could only sleep two hours and then had to get up and go to the bathroom. My urine was very high in uric acid and was burning me. Once up, I had trouble going back to sleep. I totally get you being tired.

Make a list of your symptoms and get to the doctor. This will not improve until they figure out the reason. It will only get worse until you are not functioning. Lack of sleep is very detrimental to your health.
