Being healthy, being able to move about easily and get lots done, looking good in my clothes ...

Hello wedkit and welcome :)

That is such a hard question to answer. I find it is so many different things for different people. I want to be fit and healthy for my family, especially my beautiful grandchildren. For others it maybe that they are trying to avoid diabetes or they are wanting to loose weight so that they are not struggling with so much pain. Some are getting married and want to fit in 'that dress'. It is a very personal thing and we each have to find our own motivation. I like to think that joining in with the forum and offering and gaining support from others also helps us to stay motivated :)

With that in mind, go and take a look at all the activities that we have on offer for you to join in with on our weekly chat thread, there is something there for everybody and participation is key to success :) ,

We have put together a Newbie Pack to help you to navigate the forum, please take the time to read it to help you get the best out of being here,

Please also take a look at our Internet Security/Privacy post, as you have left yours unlocked,

Why not come back and tell me what you think your motivation is going to be :)

Looking forward to seeing you around the forum joining in with us :)

When I realised that eating less, and healthy, getting more exercise, and reducing alcohol, has led to me becoming mentally and physically sharper.

Hi, wedkit , Welcome.

Young people want to be fit (and look fit).

Older people want to live (well) longer.

Try Googling "Obesity morbidity".

...but weight loss is not all about motivation, masochism, determination...

Knowing what makes you fat, and what can help you get thinner makes it so much easier.

Try LCHF and Intermittent Fasting, See:
