I found these photos and thought I would share. The top photo is what 5lbs of fat looks like and is the same weight as a house brick. It is quite scary to imagine that around your vital organs, isn't it?
The photo underneath that one is a great example of how 5lb fat looks compared to 5lb of muscle. This clearly illustrates how much less space muscle takes up compared to the equivalent weight of fat.
So a muscly person weighing the same as a fat person (if height and other factors were the same) would look much, much slimmer.
Now, 'scuse me while I go find my dumbells!

If you think about the stamina in takes for overweight people to do basic things. We go about our daily activities carrying around, in my case at least 10 house bricks! If we have the strength to do that, we have the strength to chuck them away don't we? Oh, I do hope so.
You are so right, I did some shopping the other day and my joints were really hurting as I carried it home in my rucksack.
I got home, weighed the rucksack and contents and it was 10kgs a quarter of the weight I have lost so far. It really made me think - no wonder I felt so ill and tired and in pain!
We do have the strength to chuck away those house bricks - as far away as possible, there is no way I want to be able to pick them up again!
Mostly, I'd say, but I am not an expert and I would think there are many factors contributing to that result, such as exercise, amount of muscle you have, how much weight you need to lose etc, etc.
