Heading into the Monday weigh in, I'm a pound or so up, which tells me I lost the battle this week.

Or did I?

Started out wearing 40" waist trousers, which were tight. This morning I comfortably put on 36" for the first time :)

Lesson I've learned. Don't get too hung up on just one measurement of waist or weight, it's the trend which counts, and minor fluctuations in measurements may be only the body doing it's own thing.

Have a good day everyone, I'm off to try on some 36"/38" at M&S.

Not such a bad end to a bad week :)

Ooooh - new clothes - that's a great success and as you so rightly say, it not all about the scales, but your overall health, fitness, shape etc - well done :-)

Well, I done M&S, and picked up some trousers and belt amongst other things. I chose slim fit trousers with a normal 36" waist-band. I avoided all the easy fit waist-bands, which allow one up to 4" leeway. I was also surprised that they have now introduce easy fit belts which allow about 2" leeway.

I'm far from out the woods yet, waist band size does not equate to waist measurement, and so I still have plenty to do.

Hey ho, onward and downward. :)

Wise to avoid easy fit waistbands they lull you into a false sense of security

This is so true, i,ve have not lost or gained an ounce in months of trying. But i feel better and my skin etc looks better. I would like to drop a stone and hope eventually that i will. Enjoy M and S and all those gorgeous clothes.

Thank you gillyflower88, and well done for the better complexion. The measurements will show improvement too, given time. Each step forward is a step nearer your goals :)

This weight loss thing is not predictable. If you do it right it will happen in the end and anyway your body is probably better fed nutritionally. You won't be adding problems for your heart and kidneys. Smaller clothes are good too.

I am finding this very hard. I have decided to just keep going whatever happens. In a year's time maybe we all be able to see the true facts. Time only will tell. Late at night when I feel a bit hungry that is where my main battle is at the moment.

If we are strong and stick to the diet plan, then we will win. I had late night hunger and decided to space out my meals a little better. Just a thought.

Wish you well :)

Hi Tewson,

Hope you've enjoyed trying on those 36"/38" sizes this morning, and maybe you came home with a few purchases. Enjoy wearing them! :-)

Lowcal :-)

So much could change by tomm, your weight is determined by so much , so you effectively could lose by tomm that pound.

Reflect on how far you've come and celebrate your future, whatever that is, slimmer I expect.

Be patient and kind to your body it serves you well in good health, well for most of us
