Working out calories in homemade broth

Hi,

Can anyone tell me how to work out calories in a homemade broth? I use MyFitnessPal to log everything and there are a number of options to choose from but they vary quite abit. I would rather just work it out and add my broth to the my meal section so its saved for the future. For most of it the calories are easy, eg, barley, lentils, split peas, carrot, turnip, potatoe, leek and any other veg I put in, the bit i'm struggling on is the stock. I boil a ham shank for a couple of hours, take the meat out and put everything else in the pan with the stock, how do I work out the calories in the stock?

Thanks for any advice.

Kate

Can't help you on the calorie side of it.

But I use Kelco Veg Stock in my soups.

I also tend to throw everything in that I can find, the combo I like is: small can of Borletti Beans, Broccoli, cauliflower, cherry tomatoes, baby sweet corn, and curly kale,

If that doesn't put hairs on your chest I don't know what will!

I use this. You type in what you have used for the recipe and it gives you the total calories :-)

I would let the broth cool down, skim off the fat, and then not count the calories in it. :)
