I was told by my Neurologist that Chronic Kidney Disease, which I have can cause Peripheral Neuropathy, and also that Peripheral Neuropathy can effect kidneys. I am taking Gabapentin that is reduced by Doctor as it can possibly effect your Kidneys

Hi there, I have been taking Gabapentin for about 4years now and so far no negative effect has been found on my kidneys. I understand that the maximum dose is 3600mg per day. However, my consultant will not let me go higher than 1200mg per day and I assume this is because of the side effects you mention.I have PN in my legs and I'm not sure that Gabapentin helps very much but I shall keep taking it.

Best wishes to you.

I am down to max of 100MG 3 times a day , and getting by with 2. I have PN and Motor Sensory neuropathy. I do take a natural pill (Nervive) at bed time and it works.
