Does anyone know why vitamin B12 supplements make my neuropathy of the feet worse. I know it happens as its been reported a few times. My B12 is just within the range (310) but I want to increase this figure. I've tested this issue 3 times myself over 6 months and it definitely does happen. It's so clear cut.

B12 and Neuropathy
I can't really tell the difference, and when you say its been reported by, just by whom? Are you taking supplements or getting a B12 injection? As I also suffer really badly with neuropathy in my feet, and in my hands, maybe it's worth putting this post up on the PA pages as well, they are more clued up about figures on wether they are to low, and how low they are, because this can make all the difference, and maybe you are just presuming that the B12 isn't at the right level to actually help you yet? I started off with neuropathy, but , then ended up having to get the injections a couple of years later, and then I was only onto the 3 monthly loading doses, however, I still feel these aren't sufficient, as I have now ended up with tinnitus, so don't ignore your levels, it's a must to keep yourself 'topped' otherwise your symptoms WILL get worse , thanks for your post, and l hope you dont think I wasn't be cheeky when I meant by who, best of luck, take care. 🙂
Sorry I've just re- read your post, your taking supplements at the moment however, sometimes your body cannot absorb these enough , so maybe the injections are the only way to get you up to the required levels, but definitely put your comments on the PA page, they can shed some more light on the right figures, and this will give you a indication on how low you may be , once again thanks for your comments 😉
I found this the other day: optimusmedica.com/vitamin-b...
I suppose its down to how you feel, and I think this article was just put out into the open to generate discussion maybe, myself personally feel that if I didn't get the injections towards the end of my 3 monthly period I end up with muscle spasms, and feeling generally weak, and of course the further damage it can cause, its unwise to ignore these problems, and can be difficult to reverse, if you've had stomach problems,or take omeprazole this has been known to have caused neuropathy, diabetes, or chemotherapy are other things that have also affected people, probably many more, but I'd rather keep on top of the B12 levels, rather than them slip into the lower levels, and you'll be feeling the difference, thank you for your reply, have a good week 🙂
Thanks for that. Just curious, but what's a acceptable level of B12. My is 310 nmol/L and accepted as NOT deficient in Australia, but Japan's normal is a much much higher reading. Anyone know?
