Hi, I am new here and I've been struggling with Small Fibre Neuropathy for two years; the cause is unknown. Up until now I have refused any type of medication to control/alleviate/reduce the pain, numbness, aching and electrical shock feeling, because I HATE taking drugs (especially those that mess with you mind!) I have recently succumbed and was prescribed Duloxetine (Cymbalta). I have just read the patient leaflet front to back and I am now petrified to start taking it!
Is anyone here currently taking it? Any issues? Horror stories? Success stories? I'd love to know that you LOVE it and it has changed your life! ...but also if if made you think you were going crazy! Any feedback is better than none. THANKS!
Hello. I am thinking of trying it soon too because its the only one that most people dont gain tremendous weight from. Im also afraid of all drugs side effects, as you, and have suffered for many years without drugs.
My ins. Co. Wants me to get a blood test now and see how they can help me . I turned 65 this year. Thus means dreaded drugs, but iam feeling in desperate pain and have slowed down alot.
Duloxetine needs extremely slow slowing down before ever stopping it , another drawback. However, many people think its great !
You can read peoples reviews on it on drugs dot com.
Good luck ! I hope it works well for you if you goahead with it !
Hi I've been prescribed Duloxetine. Initial thoughts are the severe constipation and extremely delayed urinary tract response. I'm seriously thinking of discarding it. Hasn't made any difference personally to my neuropathy pain.
