undiagnosed possible neuropathy, inside arms and legs

Hello,

I've had odd pains and sensations for many years, initially, it was only in one calf felt like I had a rubber band around it, not that painful just uncomfortable.

Because of family history of brain tumours and weird sensations i was getting I had an MRI and nothing found except a few minor scars which they said werent of significance.

About a year or so ago its started being pain in my inside upper arm, initially only on one side (the left) and I thought oh now maybe its an artery or vein thing but had all my heart checked and no issues.

Then it moved to my legs, inside thighs about half way down upper leg, again primarily on the left side. Worse at night.

I spoke with a doctor who said oh don't worry about it as it was only one side he said its probably just you slept funny and its a fair call as it tends to worse if I've drunk too much so maybe I sleep too heavily and put pressure on a nerve?

Its now gone on both sides and seems to be increasing, it happens at least a few times a week. One night it kept me up most of the night as it was really quite painful.

Its hard to describe it, it feels like the nerves, or veins or arteries (i have no idea which it is) have something stuck in them thats stuck in them, it can be sharp or it can be achey. i sort of worry its a clot thats stuck in a vein.

Looking at nerve diagrams the pain/numbness feels like its radial nerve in the arms and obturator nerve in the thigh.

I'm fully aware that this is not the forum for medical advice, but before I go and embark on a lengthy and costly excercise of seeing a Gp, then specialist A specialist b specialist C and have all sorts of test I was wondering if maybe someone might be able to say hey it sounds a bit like what I experienced and thats a nerve thing, or that a vein thing go and see a ... specialist.

I have been tested for diabetes and while I am overweight my blood sugars appear to be normal.

Thank you very much for any advice or guidance you can share.

I did have similar but it can be other things causing it? My GP sent me for a nerve conduction study and was diagnosed. I then got a referral to a Neurologist who has helped me greatly. Did Physical Therapy also. Hope you are able to get your condition diagnosed and get medical help.
