My arms & legs were on fire & pain

Well last night I suffered with spinal pain and shakes as my spine hurt so bad. My arms and legs were on fire!

They hurt and throbbed and it felt like my skin was on fire! I rubbed my muscles with Voltaren extra strength cream and it helped a little. I took breakthrough meds and fell asleep which was good, as when your sleeping you don’t feel the pain. Today my goals are to walk back and forth through the house and to use the recumbent bike.

Yes this is painful, but so worth the pain as in pain 24 hrs a day so why not try to help the body to fight and to continue to have ongoing mobility! God bless all of you amen

Hi Franklin 1970

Try to keep the stress levels down if possible as it will help. I have had hereditary neuropathy for 12 years. From time to time it increases a notch or two with more pain and burning in the feet, legs, hands and arms. Pre-gabalin and amitriptyline is a bit help and once I get off to sleep I usually have a good night. I have found that swimming helps and usually go twice a week and swim half a mile each time. I do get quite a lot of cramp mostly in the legs but other than that quite fit and healthy.

I have been recently diagnosed with autonomic neuropathy and it affects my entire body. I noticed that when i eat a carbohydrate my feet are on fire even more so because the carb is turned into sugar which makes your nerves swell. Do a test and cut out all of the carbs and see if this helps at all!

Ty Boxer30! I was never told that about carbs making your nerves swell. Yes I too have it all over my body and yesterday I got my full body scan results when my pain doc called and I was told that I have degenerative discs disease and degenerative knees and vertebrae affected from Ostio and NO CURE! Nothing they can do but the pain is horrible and this is on top of my Neuropathy and my stomach and yes I kinda figured as my mom had it too! I still have to go and get leg compression testing done and I am wearing compression stockings. Ty for the tip! I heard the Kito diet is supposed to be a good diet for Neuropathy I checking into it. Prayers to ease your pain and hugs and positivity from all of us!!

I have had 2 lower back, one microdiscectomy which failed and one fusion and one neck surgery. I was in a very bad accident when I was younger which I broke many ribs on my left side. They think my discs keep blowing because of it. Now I'm riddled with degenerative disc disease too but the past 4 years have been hell for me until I was diagnosed correctly and I'm taking gabapentin and 1 10mg capsule of Nortriptyline at night. These 2 meds have helped me tremendously. I just wish I could get the sweating under control as I can't tolerate heat. I haven't completely eliminated the carbs but when I do there is a HUGE difference in how I feel. I wish you luck! Keep me posted!

Ty Boxer30! I was on gabapentin before 2x as I had 6 previous head injuries one with base skull fracture and cranial fluid was leaking if I bent over, couldn’t blow my nose for weeks and the Gabapentin made my head all messed up then they tried me on it a few years ago and it messed me up but I am on Pristiq 100 mg and it helps me stay calm. I was in a car accident with head in jury when I was 18 and had seizures afterwards and they had me on Dilantin. I been told No Surgery for anything unless life or death as I could die in surgery and my chances are very low for survival. I watched my mom suffer and cry for years with her Ostio and Degenerative bone disease throughout body and now I suffer and I worry of future but still try to live life to fullest I force myself to use my recumbent bike for 5mins a day for five days a week and I do chair leg workouts to make the muscles around my joints solid as I’ve had the cortisone shots in my bones and they didn’t work. Do you know of anti inflammatory drugs that don’t harm the stomach. They had me on Arthrotec for years and caused me bleeding ulcers before so I am not on any anti inflammatory and I am suffering so bad right now going on 5 hrs a sleep and waking up in pain all night and have to move around or my legs throb so bad the bones the muscles cramping pain. Prayers for you and yes you’re very helpful ty so much for your time.

They have had me on 100 mg of Trazadone to sleep for years now, but I’m waking up twice a night in pain. Ty I will see if the meds you suggested and ask my doc if I can take them. Hugs and prayers and positivity your way! May your pain be eased and your positivity remain high!

I sincerely feel badly for you as I can completely relate to you. I was feeling so positive and much better but I am feeling so poorly today. I'm trying so hard to figure out what's wrong with me and I believe it has to do with my small intestine.
