Could you expand a little on what you have tried or what you consider new? For example, I have a spinal implant. It's not new or new technology, but some may be unaware of it.

I too seek something new, as I no longer get relief from a combination of pills and a spinal implant.

I wonder if I can butt in on this one and say that I too am desperately searching for some relief. I have been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy having had every test under the sun. The last one was a nerve conduction study which I am waiting for the results. I feel that nobody understands my pain and think it’s all in my head. I’ve been on pregabalin, gabapentine, amitriptiline, all of which did nothing for the pain and burning. I really need some relief from this. I have a pacemaker and so there are some limitations to what medication I can take. I’ve tried acupuncture, physio etc, all to no change. I am happy to have found this forum, as at last I feel like you all know what I am feeling. I have read on a few posts about CBD oil, but I am unsure as I am 82, and don’t know what this would do to me. Also, I am in the UK and not too sure how many specialists in the country can actually prescribe this. So, can I ask please, so I can go armed with some suggestions to my GP and pain consultant, can anyone tell me what else there is to try? What is this implant? The infusions? Any other specific medication for the actual condition. I just feel like my specialists don’t know what to do with me. I am so miserable with this and really I sometimes hope that I don’t go on for much longer. And I don’t want to feel like that. I’m not exceptionally frail, I would like to go out for walks, but I can’t due to what I go through. Sometimes if I do go out for a walk, and the pain is particularly bad, I wonder how on earth I am going to get back home. And then the pain I’m in when I get home is excruciating. Please can someone help me? Take care and thanks for reading. X

The problem is that there are so many possible medications it is hard to say if it works yes or no.

Find a good doctor and start a trail & error period. Keep an agenda and take your time.

Make sure you are in close contact with the neurologist and evaluate. What might work for might not work for you.

Me , I am in the middle of such a trail and error. Sometimes frustrating but I am sure one Day.....I find the right painrelief for me. Wether its oxycodon, clonazepam, sex, weet, slipping pills, anti- depression pills etc

It takes time and to be honest : I can hardly function during the Day becouse of the pain. But keep faith !!! And dare to present a plan to your neurologist !

Not what you're looking for?
