Hello everyone, I sufferer with peripheral neuropathy which is being investigated. I find walking helps me immensely so I walk at least a half hour each day. It is the evening's and night times which are a problem with this condition as you will all understand. I have been offered an indoor cycle and wondered if any of you have tried this form of exercise and if so has it helped?

I regularly visit this forum and feel so sorry for you all who suffer in such a dreadful way. I am fortunate so far in not experiencing the almost violent antics of your legs and other symptoms. I also note how difficult it is for some people to get off some of the medication you have been prescribed.

I am anxious to try and help myself and to obtain as much advice and support as I can. By adding to my knowledge I feel I am empowering myself to help me be more confident and assertive when speaking to my GO and other specialists.

I look forward to hearing from anyone who replies.

Hi

As my PN has taken over and changed my life,as I loved long walks, I got an in door cycle.

Not sure if has helped, but I do feel at least I'm doing something to help myself.

I confess I do forget to excercise sometimes.

Give it a try.iwish you well.

Thanks for replying. As the cycle will take up quite a lot of room I want to ensure it will help my condition. I know it would be useful for exercising in general but I want some

I have been using a stationary bike since starting out on my cancer, chemo and neuropathy journey and find it of great help as i find walking is difficult due balance issues.

Thanks for replying. I am still unsure whether to accept the bike as I don't have that much room. However I think I'll ask to borrow it as a try out and see how I go. Hope you continue to improve and get stronger. Chrys

I’ve just been diagnosed with the same thing and I’m struggling so much to find a pain relief that works, the doctors have given me codine, have you tried this and does it work?

I suggest you join Restless Legs Forum. Since last August I have experienced lots of different pain and sensations in my arms and legs. I had different blood tests, shortage of iron, prediabetic. No real diagnosis still! As a member of the RL forum I came across an exceedingly knowledgeable man. He knows the insides and out of both neuropathy and restless leg syndrome. He goes by the name of Manerva! Once he knows your plight he will respond with support and real advice. He understands that GPs dont have the time or enough knowledge to advise people like yourself. Believe me, you wont be sorry.
