paraplegia and encephalitis

Hi, I am blind paraplegic, I have been disabled for over 47 years, I was always under the impression that my paraplegic status or label or what ever it is was only temporary because i have regained the use of my legs to a certain extent, I was quadriplegic when I recovered from my illness. I knew the word paraplegia was being used but didn't realise that is what I actually have, it is a condition in its own right. In the last 47 years I have not had an assessment or review of my paraplegia, it has deffinitely fallen through the net. I am in a lot of pain, am going numb around my bottom half, my back and arms are really painful why hasn't anybody looked into this, why have i never had a review? it appears, on researching paraplegia on the spinal injuries association website, my paraplegia is the cause of most of my health problems, not the other way round, I have had to work this out for myself. I am really struggling and need help, everything seems to be a battle nowadays.
