My husband had problems with both his legs/thighs in March 2021. a buzzy feeling in his thighs and deep muscle pain. Due to the the waiting list his GP recommended he pay private and went to a Rheumatologist who carried out tests, including a wide range of blood tests and could not find anything wrong apart from low white blood count. He referred us onto a Neurologist, who again did a spinal scan and some neuro observations and found nothing abnormal. Now my husband is experience further neurological symptoms, clumsiness, slow understanding, feeling drunk/woozy. The GP has asked for an urgent MRI and he also has appointment at the Neuro department at UCLH in July.
His father was diagnosed with MS in the early 1960's yet went on to live until age 83 and was told it was not MS but an unknown neuro disorder.
My husband is ploughing on as best he can, but cannot work. I have tried to apply for PIP only today.
I work and am so worried it is actually making me tearful and I'm not eating as feeling sick with anxiety, this does not help him!
How many people go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed with Neuro symptoms?
Can you maintain a relatively normal life, i.e. driving? We have a motorhome and it will break his heart to give this up.
I'm so frightened of the future... any help or advice will be welcome.
