How long does it normally take to get pregnant?

I have been trying for over 10 months now to get pregnant and as yet no joy. I was wondering could there be something wrong and is there any tests i can take? How do i go about getting this sorted?

It can be different for each pair. We were lucky enough to get pregnant first time with both pregnancies, but my friend and her partner were trying for about a year. They both were healthy, but were trying "bit too much" as the doctor said. If you are stressed that's not good. It may be easier to conceive if you go for a holiday, even short one, as you will get some rest from everyday problems.

If you decide to go to the doctor, to check if everything is OK do it together. I know a couple that was trying for about 2 years, and couldn't get pregnant. The girl decided to go to the doctor on her own to check if everything is OK. She was OK, but after hearing that, her husband didn't want to go check himself any more. I think that maybe he was afraid that he was the problem (you know what it is like with guys and their pride - but I don't blame him at all in this case).

it took me 2 years to get pregnant with my 1st, and 6 years to get pregnant with my current pregnancy(now 29 weeks) so wouldn't panic, some people get pregnant easier than others. i went to the doctors after 18 months of trying, and was referred for tests to be told nothing wrong, and to get less stressed about it all(easier said than done i know) wishing you all the best, and hope it happens for you both soon x
