I’ve had a csection due to breech baby in 2017

Gastric sleeve in 2018

Car accident in august 2020 that led me for a splenectomy and left collarbone fracture

I am 34 weeks pregnant now but I have the choice of vbac or ecs what do you all suggest. Its been so hard deciding, please share vbac or second cs experiences. Thank you ladies x

Hey there, with my first I had an emergency c section as baby had moved into an awkward position. With my second I was automatically given the option of a csection or vbac.

Whilst my csection experience had actually been quite positive I really felt that I wanted the opportunity to experience a vbac which is what I opted for.

As it happens the birth went well however, I did experience a 3rd degree tear and an internal vaginal wall tear. My recovery was long and I spent several months seeing a physio. I had chronic low level pain which affected my mental health.

Having said that I have absolutely no regrets about the vbac and am thankful to have experienced it.

I have no plans for another child however, if presented with the decision I would choose a csection - purely in the basis that I wouldn’t want to repeat my mental health struggles with 2 children and a baby.

In all honesty I think you have to go with whatever you feel is right and safe for you and baby. Good luck!!!

I love that you were able to experience it at least even though it wasn’t as enjoyable as you had hoped💖! Thank you for sharing your experience with me, I think I may opt for a ecs because Im not sure I would go into labour on my own and im worried if I was induced it may affect the babies heart rate and we’d have to do emergency csection, but if I go into labour on my own before my due date I will definitely try vbac

I’ve had 1 natural delivery 3rd degree year and they caught my bowel with forceps, 2 ecs. First was due to babies position he was breach, second was a repeat ecs, just booked my third. I wasTold that I could try vBac in the beginning but then when they’ve gone through everything they’ve said c section as

It’s a more controlled

Environment, if things were to

Go wrong as they have in the past. My consultant did say if I started labour naturally before section date I would be closely monitored to see how

Was progressing but we prepped incase it turned an emergency. I don’t think I would progress well if I did labour on my own as my natural delivery was 12 hours. But we will see.

Personally I have recovered better from

C section than natural

Delivery. Wishing you lots

Of luck in deciding hun x

With my first I was induced and got all the way to the pushing stage but things went wrong. Had a failed forceps delivery so ended up with an emergency csection. My recovery was tough and I ended up with an infection that took 2 rounds of antibiotics to get rid of. With my second, my midwife tried to persuade me to have a vbac but I pushed for an elective csection, which I had. I did not want the experience of my first again and wanted to feel more in control. My experience was fantastic and I couldn't fault it. I know there are risks to having a csection but for me having an elective was the right choice. As it was an elective rather than an emergency my recovery was much easier and quicker. Good luck!
