What is normal miscarriage bleeding?

charlottebeecroft profile image

I had a miscarriage which started to come away naturally on 1st may then a week later i went in for a secondary scan and there was some pregnancy tissue stuck in my cervix which was removed there and then. From the start to my second scan i was heavily bleeding and passing clots which slowed down as the week progressed. After having the tissue removed i started heavily bleeding and passing clots again for that day then it settled into period like bleeding and slowed to spotting and stopped then after a couple of days of no bleeding i started spotting again and now am having period style bleeding more than 3 weeks after the initial onset... is this normal? Any experiences would be greatly apprciated ❤ xx

I had the same thing happen with my 2nd mc but after the pregnancy tissue was removed with forceps I didn’t heavy bleed after it was removed, my bleeding lasted just about 2w from start to finish. If you have any queries contact your epu they were really good with me.
