First period after having a baby.

I had my first baby 10 weeks ago, and I started having my first period on the 18th April , and I've been losing clots and I'm heavier then what I would usually be and having constant belly ache and pain and there just doesn't seem to be any sign of it stopping. Is this normal after having your first child? or should I be going to my GP about the problems I'm having?

I think periods after child birth can change. I've heard people say theirs got heavier and others say they got lighter so I think everyone is just different. I can't remember my own experience as o breastfed so didn't have them for over 6 months and then I got pregnant after only a few cycles.

I think your GP might be the best person to contact. Maybe give yourself a second cycle first to see if it's just a one off. But if it's really painful and you're worried go and see your gp asap.

Hope everything is ok.
