Too scared to write anything about pregnancy on the fertility forum now after the latest shenanigans! At least there are some familiar faces on here (I love the fact that a few of us have managed to make the transition to this forum).

So had my anatomy scan on Thursday and I'm now 19+2. All looking good with our little girl.

Still super anxious. Can't believe I'm here. Went into a baby shop yesterday to look for maternity clothes and felt like a fraud. Bump isn't too big yet and I can wear most of my old clothes (except trousers) and still not look pregnant. Placenta is anterior so not likely to feel her move yet.

All this isn't helped by the fact my sister in law lost her baby a few weeks ago at 30 weeks following what had been a completely uncomplicated pregnancy.

Hopefully will start being less crazy as the weeks go on!

x

Hello! Lovely to see you here and great news about your scan. How awful for your sister in law. It must be so hard for her and the entire family.

Big hugs xxx

I'm so pleased to read all looked good at your anatomy scan, brilliant news! The anxiety is a pain ain't it though! My anxiety did get better for a few weeks then returned after they said my little ones growth had slowed right down at 32 weeks, thankfully it had picked up at the 34 week growth scan. I also have an anterior placenta & some days I seem to feel him move a lot less than others but he does tend to move again when I'm at the point of really panicking! I relate to what you say about your sister in law too as my best friends first daughter was still born the day before her due date 14 years ago, I try to be strong but sometimes fear creeps in regardless. I guess we need to keep the faith & believe we are finally here 🙂. I've found pregnancy hard mentally... When having IVF, I was just focused on it working..

didn't think how I'd feel if I got a BFP! Wishing you all the best for the rest of your pregnancy. 😘 x

So sorry to hear about your sister in law but glad to hear your anatomy scan went well xx

Glad all is going well for you! How heartbreaking for your sister. I can’t imagine how awful that must be.

Each milestone brings progress though. Hopefully the placenta will shift soon for you to feel baby move. Will you be getting extra scans? xx

Sorry to hear about your sis in laws baby but very glad to hear you are doing well. I felt exactly the same when I finally fell pregnant with our daughter but at some point you have to let yourself enjoy this, you deserve it :) my hubby said to me being worried about it won't stop something bad from happening if it's going to happen. When your bump appears or you do feel her move maybe you'll feel more reassured :) good luck with everything and so happy for you xxx

I’m loving seeing more of us on here, I might be able to make the transition. So glad everything went well with your scan and sorry to hear about your sister in law. I’ve had a hell of a first week with the new born and felt I didn’t have anywhere to turn but perhaps now I’ll feel ok using this forum (long story short, trust your instincts and don’t listen to midwives! Plus for all they winge about breast feeding and needing better rates don’t expect much support 🙄 I’ve now given up but am trying to express as much as possible so I don’t feel as much of a failure!) Anyway rant over and wishing you all the best for the rest of your pregnancy 😊

Truly sorry to hear about your sister in law baby, how awful.

But I’m really pleased that your scan went well. It’s a shame you don’t feel you can post in fertility network after all the support you’ve given others- it needs to have positive stories of fertility treatment being successful to give others hope. I used to like seeing updates ( not scan pics) it gave me hope.

Hopefully the placenta will move & you will soon feel baby moving 😍 xoxo

Hi

Us Ivf veterans are a little cursed as when we have our dream, we then worry for the rest of the time as we know how things can go wrong.

See each week as a win, that's what we did and got us to this stage with our sanity intact!

I'm sorry to hear about your sister in law.

Glad to hear all went well with your scan. I'm so sorry to hear about your sister in Law - so tragic and heartbreaking. I know cases like this can make anxiety worse, but it is extremely rare to lose a baby at such a late stage so please try not to worry. Thinking of your family xx
