First book in appointment with midwife

Hi ladies, I understand my first book in appointment with midwife I will have blood test and urine test, just wondering can I eat breakfast or not?

Yes you can eat breakfast as normal.

They don't normally check for diabetes at this appointment. They only check for that later on if you are at risk with a special test.

Yes, it's best to eat and drink before blood being taken. From my previous experience if I haven't eaten and drank enough, I'm too dehydrated to give blood.

I think she's wondering if it's fasting blood test as some tests need to be done fasting, but that's not the case for booking in bloods
