Advice please

I've been feeling more ill as the pregnancy goes on, I've been suffering with reduced movement but they believe that is because I have more fluid. I forgot to mention to the midwife my mum and aunt suffered from pregnancy diabetes and now I'm worried as I'm getting so ill all the time, What should I do? I'm 28weeks today

Speak to your midwife and ask for a glucose tolerance test at your local hospital. I have gestational diabetes and it was picked up at 16 weeks as I had glucose in my urine twice. Some midwives are a lot better than others, luckily the one I have now was onto it straight away. Do you have any more symptoms like excessive thirst? Do you feel dizzy a lot after eating? Usually happens about an hour after. If so tell her about this also.

I will! Yeah I'm having to keep bottle and bottle of water with me where ever I go! I don't feel dizzy after eating but always feel worse (more Ill) after eating :(. I will send her a message tomorrow morning and if no reply I'm going for a anti d in acouple of days

That's good def speak to her about it asap. Also just having a history of diabetes in the family they should send you for the test. I have never had gestational diabetes with any of my other pregnancies and there's no history of it in my family, this is my 4th so can just happen to anyone at anytime x

If you're in UK then at each appointment you must bring urine test with you and they test for sugar levels in it. If they have not said anything about it then probably it's fine.

However, I agree: would be great to meantion your family history so they can keep closer eye on your case. Good luck!x
