Hello I'm 45 yrs of age and really want to go to university IVF clinic to get pregnant and need some positive and negative ' experiences from other women '. I am a dumped hetro , hence I'm single and strong and my partner dumped me without a child and so I'm getting too old to wait around.

You will find more information if you join a website called fertility friends which can give you information on IVF treatment in the uk and abroad. They have a forum for single women having IVF. Good luck

If you're in the uk there's quite a lot of info on hfea.gov.uk/

It seems that you would have to get private funding tho as nhs ivf only seems to be till age 39. I'd have a look tho at the other actions as it discusses rates of success etc also your GP might be able to point you I the right direction and give you more info and support

You may find your options limited in the UK due to your age. I would recommend you contact Reprofit IVF clinic in Czech, they are one of the largest & successful clinics in Europe & they're much cheaper than the UK. They'll be able to discuss your options. I'm 45 & through them have a wonderful 6 month old baby boy. Good luck.

I have a friend who got IVF in Greece, she went in it alone, donor sperm and now has healthy twins aged 5 years. She was in early 50's then and managed. Where there is a will, there is a way. Don't live it long as time doesn't wait for anyone. You have to be very strong as chances of multiples increase with IVF and it is very very hard. You need a good support network. Lots of older women are going abroad as unfortunately here in the UK, they can't get the treatment. Wishing you all the best.

Slightly off topic, if you end up with private ivf prescriptions then the cheapest place to get them filled is Asda Pharmacy, they don't charge any mark up at all on ivf, it can still be quite expensive depending on the regimen your dr prescribes but at least you are just paying the cost of the medication,
