A question about Anti Jo1

Hello,

I've had weird blood results since I was a child, my neutrophils (white blood cells) have always been on the low side, but I've never had any other symptoms to point to anything.

Two years ago my GP ordered the whole menu of blood tests to get to the bottom of it and I came out with a weak positive result for the Anti Jo 1 antigen. My GP said this is a marker for Polymyositis and as I'm not experiencing any symptoms I should leave it and get back in touch if I feel muscle weakness.

She didn't define muscle weakness however. I'm 28 and reasonably active with walking and yoga but some days I feel quite weak in my arms and legs despite regular exercise. Now this might just be that I don't build strength that quickly but I also have diagnosed health anxiety and knowing that I have a positive result for this, together with soon entering the age danger zone (30 to 60) and the lack of strength, it's all converging into major mental health issues.

So my question is, does that positive antigen definitely mean that Polymyositis is an inevitable part of my future? When did you guys start experiencing symptoms and how did it start? What can I do to put my mind at ease?

Thanks so much in advance and hope you all have a great day.
